The company
Empire focuses on getting more from established oil and gas fields, using careful field management to maximise oil and gas recovery, with limited and selective new drilling. Its assets include fields in New Mexico, North Dakota, Montana, Texas and Louisiana.
Phil’s role
Phil began working with Empire as a development partner in the Fort Trinidad Field in Texas. In 2021, he was a key financial partner in Empire’s purchase of the Eunice Monument Field in the Permian Basin of New Mexico from ExxonMobil / XTO.
In October 2021, Empire’s Board appointed him as a director. It was his first board seat in more than eight years. He now serves as Chairman of the Board and chairs its Compensation and Operations Committees.
A committed investor
Phil has continued to back the company with his own money and affiliated companies, and is one of Empire’s largest shareholders.
