Following his attendance at the grand opening of the Women Business Investment Forum (WBIF) in the UAE, energy veteran Phil Mulacek sat down with The Chic Icon to break down how capital access and inclusive leadership are actively reshaping modern business.
For Mulacek, true empowerment means moving past vague corporate advocacy and handing founders the physical resources needed to scale high-impact projects.
“A global community unlocks an actual network of support, collaboration, and empowerment,” Mulacek noted during the interview, pointing out that shared knowledge is vital to “help overcome unique challenges women face in the business world, such as access to funding.”
From a purely operational standpoint, he views inclusive leadership as a direct driver of commercial resilience and innovation, rather than a simple ethical checkbox.
“A diverse workforce allows companies and entrepreneurs like myself to tap into different perspectives and experiences,” he explained, emphasizing that this internal variety acts as a catalyst “encouraging innovation and creativity, which can lead to increased market share and improved profits.”
Drawing from over 40 years in global energy development, Mulacek also tied these changing leadership dynamics to the massive shifts currently reshaping the energy sector as it adapts to new environmental realities. He highlighted that international initiatives focused on LNG and clean tech like hydrogen and carbon capture are receiving significant investment support.
“While the transition brings challenges, we see clear opportunities for growth and innovation,” Mulacek stated.
Technology will play an equally massive role in bridging this gap, particularly through artificial intelligence. As Mulacek noted, “For the oil and gas industry, AI has the potential to significantly impact sustainability efforts by optimizing operations and minimizing environmental impact, thus accelerating the transition towards a net-zero future.”
